Japan and South Korea were among the countries represented at “ONE: Century 世紀” in Tokyo, Japan. The combat sports event had two parts with 11 bouts each.
Featuring mixed martial arts, Muay Thai and kickboxing matches, “ONE: Century 世紀” took place at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo on October 12, 2019. In the seventh bout of the first part, Yuya “Little Piranha” Wakamatsu, 24, of Kagoshima, Japan and Dae Hwan “Ottogi” Kim, 32, of Seoul, South Korea competed in an MMA bout in the flyweight division.
“ONE: Century 世紀” was the second ONE Championship event held in Japan. It marked the martial arts organization’s 100th live event.
As part of the ONE Martial Arts Fan Fest, ONE Championship held an open workout at the Bellesalle Shibuya Garden in Tokyo featuring select “ONE: Century 世紀” athletes on October 6, 2019. The official press conference and face-offs took place at the Park Hyatt in Tokyo on October 10, 2019.
Including Japan and South Korea, a total of 18 countries were represented in the two parts of “ONE: Century 世紀.” The others were Algeria, Belarus, Brazil, China, France, India, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey and the United States.
Wakamatsu was one of the 12 fighters who represented Japan. Kim was one of the three representatives of South Korea.
